Reading becomes fluent with practice and more advanced phonic work. Formal writing is introduced as hand control is now well established. Formal number work addition and subtraction is also introduced.
Preparation for Standard 1 interviews is underway. By the end of this year children can read fluently and spell and write their own simple stories using mainly the phonic method.
At the end of the 3 year programme, each child should be developed to his or her full potential at this age.
