Since October 2013, Msingi Bora Kindergarten, in the memory of our founders Maureen and John Swai, has been providing support to charities that work towards bettering the lives of the most disadvantaged children in our society. Here are a few of the charities that are closest to our hearts.

Volunteers Foundation
Volunteers Foundation (VF) enables children to reach their full potential via a 360-degree education approach. The Foundation is active in three key areas: Education, Health and Nutrition. VF believes that through a complete programme aimed at nurturing and developing each child from an early age, they can teach the importance of knowledge, sustainability and adaptability and make an impact on their lives and their families.

Maisha Trust
Maisha Trust is a non-profit charitable organization registered in Kenya and the UK. Maisha means ‘life’ in Kiswahili and that is the charity’s vision; bringing life in every sense of the word to those who are disadvantaged and marginalized.
Mater Heart Run
Every year, a number of our students take part in the Mater Heart Run Fundraiser, an initiative that supports the Mater Cardiac Programme which identifies and treats children with heart ailments.

TUSHINDE CHILDREN’S TRUST
Tushinde Children’s Trust works in the Mathare are informal settlement, a collection of underdeveloped urban towns located less than 5 km away from the Nairobi City Centre in an old quarry 2km long and 300m wide. Around 200,000 people have limited access to sanitation and running water.
