Msingi Bora Kindergarten

Your Kindergarten of choice

Volunteers Foundation (VF) enables children to reach their full potential via a 360-degree education approach. The Foundation is active in three key areas: Education, Health and Nutrition.

VF believes that through a complete programme aimed at nurturing and developing each child from an early age, they can teach the importance of knowledge, sustainability and adaptability and make an impact on their lives and their families.

Investing and enriching Human Capital is a key factor to reduce inequality and improve life conditions for people in disadvantaged areas.

In 2016, VF founded, a primary school in Kibera. Initially, renting two classrooms, in 2019, VF finally found a piece of heaven in Otiende, just outside of Kibera. The school has grown over the years and will be welcoming their first PP1 and PP2 children in January 2025.

Feeding Programme

We support the entire feeding programme at Veronica’s Day Care Centre, so that the children can enjoy a nutritious breakfast and healthy lunch six days a week. Our financial contributions also make it possible for two mothers to earn a living by cooking the meals at the centre.

Daycare centers are an integral part of Tushinde’s commitment. In Kenya, child support by government does not begin until the age of 6 (under the Free Primary Education programme). In informal settlements like Mathare, poverty levels mean women are often forced to leave their children unattended to go out and look for work. Providing a safe place to play, sleep and eat enables the mothers of these very young children to work and provide for their families.

At the end of every school year, our parents and children generously donate clothes, toys and dried food which are packed and sorted by all the members of staff. The donations are then loaded up into vans and taken to Veronica’s Day Care Centre and distributed by our members of staff. The donations play a vital role in our support of Tushinde.

Thanks to the support we provide through the feeding programme, children that were once sick and dangerously underweight are now beginning to thrive.
